Cooper Center Council
Managing Agent of Cooper Center
Ke aloha nui no kakou!
I am deeply honored and humbled to be welcomed as the incoming President of the
Cooper Center Council. To follow in the footsteps of our now CCC President Emeritus,
Mrs. Linda Ugalde, is a truly daunting, yet incredibly inspiring honor.
The direction of Cooper Center Council has been set and as we move forward, I am
committed to building upon the strong foundation that has already been laid. My vision
for the Cooper Center is to continue as the heart of our community, with sustained and
inclusive participation by enhancing programs and services, adapting, and expanding in
order to continue to meet the evolving needs of our community. Working closely with
the County of Hawaii, local businesses’ and community organizations to maximize our
impact helps us foster collaboration and preserves the legacy set in place by our
predecessors. Continuing the good work that has defined the Cooper Center Council, it’s
facility and countless community members it serves.
By working together, we can ensure that the Cooper Center continues to thrive as a vital
resource for generations to come. I am excited to embark on this journey with all of you,
and I look forward to serving our community as a steward of Aloha.
Mahalo nui nō kākou!

Honoring Mrs. Linda Ugalde, CCC President Emeritus
In deserving honor of an extraordinary individual and pillar of our community, who has dedicated two decades of unwavering service to the Cooper Center Council. Mrs. Linda Ugalde has served as our President for (21) twenty-one remarkable years. Navigating the complexities and challenges of (4) four different Hawaii County Administrations through (6) six terms. (21) Twenty-one years of tireless dedication, countless meetings, endless problem-solving, court battles, and a deep and genuine commitment to the betterment of our community. She has been the steady hand, the wise voice, and the passionate advocate for the Cooper Center Council, it’s facility, the people it serves and its’ many volunteers, members, county workers and government representatives.
Through economic shifts like Covid-19, inflation, policy changes, and the ever-evolving needs of our community, she has led with integrity, vision, compassion and an unwavering spirit. Fostering collaboration, building necessary bridges, and helping to ensure that Cooper Center remained a vibrant and essential resource for all.
Her legacy is not just in the years served, but in the countless lives touched, the projects realized, and the strong foundation built for our future. None of which could have been made possible without the loving support of her husband, coach, encouragement and silent presence, Mr. Eddie Ugalde.
On behalf of the Cooper Center Council, the community, and myself, I extend our deepest gratitude and heartfelt appreciation. Thank you, Mrs. Linda Ugalde, for your extraordinary service.
Mrs. Linda Ugalde shall continue serving the Cooper Center Council as a Board Director and the President Emeritus Advisor with the same level of commitment that she had when she first began. She plans to also continue serving as Editor of The Volcano Community News and assisting the Sunday Market Business Table with all its duties so please stop by and show her some aloha.
