Welcome to The Cooper Center Facility
“The Heart of Volcano”

Nestled amidst the lush, volcanic landscape of Volcano, Hawai'i, The Cooper Center Facility serves as a vital community hub, fostering connection and enrichment for residents and visitors alike. The establishment of The Cooper Center Facility is rooted in a vision to create a dedicated space for community gatherings, events, and activities. The initial impetus for this space arose from the desire to

provide a central location for the growing Volcano community.

The physical structure of The Cooper Center Facility was erected through the combined efforts of dedicated volunteers and community support. The building was designed with versatility in mind, capable of hosting a wide range of events, from educational workshops and cultural celebrations to private gatherings and public meetings. In recognition of the importance of community kuleana (responsibility) and engagement, the Cooper Center Council was formally established as the managing agent of the facility through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the County of Hawaii. This partnership ensures that the center's

operations are guided by the needs and aspirations of the local community, promoting sustainable and responsive management.

Today, The Cooper Center Facility stands as a testament to the power of community collaboration. We are committed to maintaining a welcoming and inclusive space that strengthens the bonds of our

community and celebrates the unique spirit of Volcano.

Access to the Cooper Center Facility Events Calendar, Facility Rental Information, Cooper Center Council Contact and Membership or volunteer requirements may be found by navigating through our
